Hello!
I have one page left in my main art journal, and I really wanted to do something with the cover. I thought about and tried to find some inspiration for it. In the end I came up with this:
Here is my process. I started with this; but I didn’t really like the look and feel of it.
I printed off a coloring page, and cut it out:
Now, on the actual journal cover, I glued a used coffee filter on. I like using used tea bags and coffee filters in my art because the old vintage-y look really appeals to me. We were going to throw it away anyway right?
I painted and colored it, trying not to overthink the process.
When I had the elephant how I wanted it, I glued it on!
I then wanted to accentuate the elephant , giving it a more 3-d look, and I added a title strip, with dates.
Ta- Da!
Hope you enjoyed!
love, mikaela joy
